An interesting conversation

I was chatting with a colleague of mine who's in the night shift. We exchanged a few good views. Here are some of them.

What's important in life? Money or Health? The age old saying goes that Health is Wealth. When you are young, in the prime of your youth, health does not matter. Your health would be in your hands and you can twist around and play with it however you want.

She was complaining about working inthe night shift. I would not mind any shift that I am put into as long as I have some work to do and spend my hours productively. There is a visible difference of Rs. 800/- per month if you work in the night shifts. I am not sure if the pay has been revised or not. When I was in the night shifts (more than 7 months back, that's the difference I was noticing. Day shift the shift allowance is 400/- while in the night shift, it is 1200/-.

I felt that as there is ample amount of work in the night.... (This is a BPO and the client is US Based) if you get an amount of 800/- per month over and above your normal earnings, and you are busy throughout the night too...what's the big problem in working then???

If I were in her place, I'd have continued in the night shifts for time immemorial...for a minimum stretch of 4 months without asking a shift change or cribbing about night shifts. I am fed up of being jobless during the day and earning my salary without doing anything productive. Being jobless had put me into depression and now, I have found more productive ways of spending my time in the office.

Anyways, in continuance with my earlier question, is Health important more than wealth in your youth??? I feel otherwise. I feel that you can always change your daily routine and live life during the day as you used to do in the night (i.e., sleep) and work during the night (as you'd have done in the day). Eat lunch (actually dinner) by 2:30 AM. Eat breakfast (which is your actual dinner by 8:30 and go home and eat dinner (actual breakfast) by 9:00 AM and then, doze off by 10 or 11 to wake up by 6 or 7. Get ready and reach the office by 8:30 to continue ur day.

I was well accustomed to this routine. Now, the routine has changed...'m in the day shift putting on a lot of weight. Who cares actually.... The only problem that I find in my current work timings is that I spend a lot of time sitting idle (just as if I was on bench) than using my work hours productively. But, I have been introduced to blogging and am slowly getting addicted to it. Let's C what's goin to happen.

Secularism -- Majority and Minority

This post is not dedicated to anyone and is just a forwarded email which has been copied and pasted over here... and i am forced to assume that this is the truth! I had posted earlier on the same topic and here i go again! Talking abt majority and minority as a part of the comments in my previous post, i was forced to put this in points below: 1. Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular,VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular? 2. Why Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir? 3. When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran, Why Hindus cannot teach Gita in our schools? 4. When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed? 5. If Muslims & C...

The Truth - "Kannada Barutha"??? Kannada barbeku!

"Kannada Barutha??", ah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is "kannada barutha?" here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India , the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore/bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing MTR's, classy eat out's replacing "Vidyarthi Bhavans" and flashy pub's replacing all our "Mahalakshmi wine shops". "Change is inevitable" from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to INFOSYS, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of "LALBAGH...", "rave idli and coffee.." at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh o...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love, on the other hand, is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows - one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real, it gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warned by his/her presence, even when is away. Long distances do not separate you. You want him/her near, but near or far, you know he/she is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him/her." Love says, "Be patient, Don't Panic. He/she is yours. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation...
