Posting after quite some time…. Been busy in the office… Not thought of having a system at home!
There have been quite some things happening in my life as well as in Bangalore in the past few days….
Events mentioned in descending order of days – Latest first and earliest last
Rajkumar dies…Bangalore burns.
I joined BlankNoiseProject but am unable to attend their “Intervention”
Had a school re-union.. was able to participate and meet all my school friends after almost 12 years… They did recognize me!!!
Thought of taking some risks and took my 2 month old bike to Mysore (a distance of 140 kms) and rode alone… Had a thrilling ride TO and FRO.
Mom went out of town and was alone in my house…
All this in just the last two weeks!!!
Lemme start my opinions on all the above…
RAJKUMAR DIES – BANGALORE BURNS
Surprising how a film star can have so many fans who can go berserk at his Natural Death… Just shudder to think what if someone had actually killed him… No wonder he was a very good actor, No wonder in all his movies, due to his acting prowess, he was never offered any other role than that of the Hero… and give him any kind of role.. comedy or action or serious or tragedy.. he used to give life to the character he was portraying which made it easier for the common man to identify himself in that. That’s precisely what made RajKumar gain so many fans. Earlier, when MGR of TamilNadu died, abt 5 or 10 fans of his committed suicide and that was absolutely foolishness by them.. this time, though I thought someone would do that, none committed suicide but many committed heinous crimes which lead to the death of 8 people.
I was watching the live telecast of the procession of his dead body when I observed one thing… many people were just too happy in doing what they were doing… shouting or throwing stones at police vehicles or throwing stones at public property and their faces displayed the happiness. It makes one ponder whether his death was a tragedy or was a happy occasion!!!!
What should the poor public have done… sat and cried under a pandal of RajKumar fans or created havoc like the other fans? I feel that the Police were terribly unorganized and the vandals were tremendously organized…. As though this was preplanned
Around Rs. 5.4Crores loss to Bangalore only during the two days… People did not realize that the Govt. is going to collect the money back from the people in various ways!! Crazy people even did not allow the ambulance to move further and tried entering the ambulance or climbing its top… little realizing that they were giving their IDOL a bad name in the nation’s purview!
What would a critical ill person who was supposed to be taken to a hospital do if he was not allowed to get out of his house of if he did not have any transport facilities to move around???
Any answers?? No… I have an opinion that the same thing is going to happen either in a higher scale when Rajnikant or Vishnuvardhan die…. Stupidity continues there… Trust me… all the vandals were not unemployed people but were (again in my opinion) brought about paying money to create this ruckus.
BLANK NOISE PROJECT
No introduction needed to this project… the only update was that I joined the group and am in touch with Jasmeen for updates. Tried to attend the intervention, but was in office till 8 PM on the day of Intervention.
SCHOOL RE-UNION
Left CFTRI school in 1997 after completing my 10th and could not meet any of my classmates on the day I left school nor after that… was probably avoiding them for reasons that I am unable to remember now… was in constant touch only with RK Prasad.. my best buddy then and now !!
Got the contact numbers of a couple of people after I joined my current office. Also, was suddenly interested in going back into contact with them… again for reasons unknown to me. I was informed by Chaitra that a re-union was being planned. Immediately thought of attending it no matter whatever happened and for that reason, had to work on holidays to get a comp-off. On the day of re-union, which was my first cousin NP’s b’day, left my residence early in the morning to have a long ride in the Ring Road (Complete Ring Road distance) and from Kengeri, started on Mysore Road on my bike to Reach Mysore in 2½ hours.
Met my classmates at Olive Gardens that evening.. Had dinner and left towards Bangalore by 3 PM after spending the night at RKPs house, riding to Betta the next day morning…
Many people whom, I thought, would have either forgotten me or will avoid me came to me and spoke… may be coz it was long since they saw me or coz the number of people who turned up were less…. Dunno!!!
BIKE RIDE TO MYSORE
As mentioned earlier, woke up quite early for a Saturday and went with NP in the entire stretch of Bangalore Ring Road as a B’day gift for him. After that, reached Kengeri by 07:10 and took on the Mysore Road by 07:15. Took two breaks…. Each of 15 mins and reached Mysore by 09:45. Not tired but excited after completing the ride safely… WOW!! Bike did not give any problems nor did my health!!!
Went to a couple of friends places that day and attend the re-union that evening.. by the time I finally ended the day, it was next day actually.. slept for a couple of hours.. not more than that. Went to Betta, again with school classmates.. Was famished by 9:45 but had breakfast only by 10:30. Met a couple of more friends and started towards Bangalore by 15:00 to reach Bangalore by 18:00 after a 45 min break at Coffee Day near Chennapatna! The Road stretch is not that bad but is not that great too.. at places, it is just too wonderful and at places again, it sucks.
Still am unable to forget the excitement which made my heart skip a beat when I started on Mysore Road! WOW!!!
Nothing special to mention in Mom being out of town!!! ;o)
Been quite a long post till now.. will try and keep updating my blog often… Till then… C YA…
