Mysore Trip - II

Well, there are a few things which you feel like doing and you end up doing it in a way which is not satisfying! This trip to Mysore was one of them. Anyday, I'd love to ride down to Mysore.

The first trip took 3 hrs while going and 3 hrs 45 mins while returning to Bangalore. The second trip was much better.. Took just 2 hrs while going and 2 hrs while returning.

The best part of the ride was that we (me and NP) rode at a modest speed of 90 kmph both ways and took a 15 min break at Maddur (the so-called half way point b/n Bangalore and Mysore).

Details of the trip:

Time of departure from Bangalore - 6 AM on 15th July
Starting kms: 4404
Time of reaching Mysore - 8AM
Time of finishing Breakfast @ Guruprasad - 8 25
Dumped bags and helmet @ Lytton's place
Reached CFTRI School by 8 45
Met Aunty Geetha/Lokamatha/Satnam/Deenamma and many other teachers... relived the old memories of school
Left school to reach Kukkarahalli kere by 10 - Spent abt 40 mins there
Left Kukkarahalli kere to reach Karanji kere by 10 45 - Spent abt 90 mins there

Karanji kere (the name actually means a lake with a fountain!!) has been revamped and is now a favorite haunting place for all Lovebirds... (both the feathered kind and otherwise). Missed my GF... it was as if me and NP were two gays enjoying the nature...

Met Ranga by 12 05 near NIE.. went to his place, watched couple of 'scenes' from Mera Naam Joker.. My Fast track goggles lost one of the side frames -- Left his place by 13 45, reached Agrahara by 13 50, collected bags and helmet
Dropped Ranga @ DD Urs Road by 14 20, went to Dasaprakash Paradise and had lunch. Realised that I had to go to Vidyaranyapuram to buy sweets for Babu's b'day. Reached V'puram by 15 40 and left Mysore towards Bangalore by 16 15.
Reached Bangalore by 18 15, but took the ORR thru Nagarbhavi and reached home by 18 45.

Now, the reason why I was not satisfied with this trip:

1. Got caught in rain as soon as I left Mysore
2. Had multiple plans in Mysore like going to KRS/Balmuri/Yedmuri/Betta but could not do anything like that
3. Previously, had thought of staying in Mysore but NP had to work on Sunday and hence, rushed back
4. Could not meet any classmates there
5. Could not spend quality time with anyone

But, as always, riding my bike gave me such a high that I'm sure no drug (Cocaine/Heroin/Opium etc etc...) would have taken me there! I will always love biking!!!

Secularism -- Majority and Minority

This post is not dedicated to anyone and is just a forwarded email which has been copied and pasted over here... and i am forced to assume that this is the truth! I had posted earlier on the same topic and here i go again! Talking abt majority and minority as a part of the comments in my previous post, i was forced to put this in points below: 1. Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular,VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular? 2. Why Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir? 3. When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran, Why Hindus cannot teach Gita in our schools? 4. When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed? 5. If Muslims & C...

The Truth - "Kannada Barutha"??? Kannada barbeku!

"Kannada Barutha??", ah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is "kannada barutha?" here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India , the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore/bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing MTR's, classy eat out's replacing "Vidyarthi Bhavans" and flashy pub's replacing all our "Mahalakshmi wine shops". "Change is inevitable" from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to INFOSYS, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of "LALBAGH...", "rave idli and coffee.." at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh o...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love, on the other hand, is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows - one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real, it gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warned by his/her presence, even when is away. Long distances do not separate you. You want him/her near, but near or far, you know he/she is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him/her." Love says, "Be patient, Don't Panic. He/she is yours. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation...
