5 years.... On reminiscing.. it is quite a long time!

5th anniversary.. wish i could make it GRAND!!!

5th anniversary of what, you might ask.. well, it is of earning... earning and learning while earning.. learning survival from the best teacher of all.. LIFE!

Lemme try to recall the individual events that captured my attention all these years.. and the stuff that happened, without names that is!!! ;)

YEAR 1 --> 2002-03

1) Joined a company in Mysore as a Data Entry Operator.. my final year B'Com exams were still going on.... salary offered was a princely sum of 1800/- and working hours were 9AM to 12AM.. (3 brks included... one for lunch @ 1 PM, 1 for tea @ 5 PM and 1 for dinner @ 9 PM)

2) Got a call from Bangalore the day i was about to collect my marks card calling me for an interview.. it was a Wednesday! Left to Bangalore on friday to attend the interview on Sunday, joined on Monday.. first attempt on wearing a tie and had a wonderful 1 1/2 hour drive all the way to Electronics City.. I can still go through the feeling of awe and surprise of travelling such a long distance to office and the amazing campus/bldgs

3) My first blackmark.. going to meet a friend in the campus while i was in training without informing anyone... and got a nice feedback!

4) My second blackmark... asking my manager a silly doubt coz i did not approach my TL and had approached my manager directly! My Quality scores got screwed forever just for this mistake! :(

5) My first sight of a girl smoking.... she looked HOT just coz she had a ciggi in her hand... I can still recall her face and her attire that day.. a pink t-shirt with a Tight Jeans pant.. (this was in Kormangala, B'lore!)

6) My first visit to a bar and first taste of beer..... and my innocence lost when I asked my DM if it had to be drunk "raw"! ;) So silly of me! My friends still tease me with that!

YEAR 2 --> 2003-04

1) Shuttling b/n Mysore and Bangalore.. walking home in Mysore during the dead of the night.. and actually enjoying the silent thrills during the 4 km long walk! :)

2) LOWS and HIGHS.... stayed alone in Bangalore... fought against moving in with a relative.. but was forced to...

3) Achieving the impossible... getting parents over to Bangalore.. but that was a very costly error and had to be paid with the life of my dad!

4) My first team.. my first training assignment.. was amazing to handle a team and handle all their requirements along with taking responsibility for their actions.

YEAR 3 -> 2004-05

1) Someone admitted that she had a crush on me for the first time.. and my first kiss! (during the second year of my career!)

2) My first intercourse..... I did love her but she ditched me badly by moving with a rival! (oops... had actually made a typo here.. by typing as fist intercourse... that has happened many times!) ;)

3) LOWS and DEPTHS... I dunno how many times I felt psychotic.. felt like running away from everything.. but did not do that.... but learnt something invaluable.. silence is golden.. but speech is something priceless.. speak out, but with yourself.. give a vent to your emotions through your words.. and keep your communications only with inanimate objects and the nature ofcourse!

4) My visit to a psycho counsellor

5) Cervical Disc Prolapse... more than 4 weeks spent in Hospital with a traction of 7 kgs

6) Fought with my manager and my first change or project - was for the better.. was able to work for one of the premium IT companies!

7) My experience working under the best TLs and worst managers! -- this showed me how to be a thorough professional.. but again... if i try to put myself in their shoes, they were right in some sense.. the problem was in communication!

8) Made some invaluable frenz... (was fedup of being a loner!)

9) Started blogging

10) Fell in love .... still am unable to get out! ;) (Gud or bad.. i dunno.. i am unable to decide!) ;)

11) Dad passes away... Got more responsibility and became both bad and good in the eyes of my sister

To be continued..........

Secularism -- Majority and Minority

This post is not dedicated to anyone and is just a forwarded email which has been copied and pasted over here... and i am forced to assume that this is the truth! I had posted earlier on the same topic and here i go again! Talking abt majority and minority as a part of the comments in my previous post, i was forced to put this in points below: 1. Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular,VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular? 2. Why Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir? 3. When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran, Why Hindus cannot teach Gita in our schools? 4. When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed? 5. If Muslims & C...

The Truth - "Kannada Barutha"??? Kannada barbeku!

"Kannada Barutha??", ah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is "kannada barutha?" here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India , the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore/bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing MTR's, classy eat out's replacing "Vidyarthi Bhavans" and flashy pub's replacing all our "Mahalakshmi wine shops". "Change is inevitable" from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to INFOSYS, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of "LALBAGH...", "rave idli and coffee.." at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh o...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love, on the other hand, is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows - one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real, it gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warned by his/her presence, even when is away. Long distances do not separate you. You want him/her near, but near or far, you know he/she is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him/her." Love says, "Be patient, Don't Panic. He/she is yours. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation...
