My Weekend

Weekend??? It is no longer good for me...

For quite many days, I used to enjoy the weekends but these days, I am left wondering what would be wrong if there was work (and of course, if you get paid for it!) all 7 days a week...

I had to miss the Bar Camp :( --- that too, for the sake of some puja happening in Mysore.

However, there were some good parts to this.. I rode all the way to Mysore enjoying the road, the rain and the climate... Took time off to visit KRS:

The water level is too high... and it is just amazing to see the amount of water.. But again, felt bad coz the people (many of whom are educated and had visited in all latest model cars) did not bother about the cleanliness of the place and the bin for their waste materials (like paper, plastic, cartons, tetrapacks) was the water... :(

I am unable to blame the people too.. coz the park (Brindavan Gardens) is still incomplete and there is some development works happening... and the worst part of it all is that there are no restrooms/dustbins... Fortunately for me, I did not see anyone peeing in the water.. If it were not for the crowd, people might have done that too...

Well, I kept wondering why the Govt. allowed the opening of the park when the works are still happening? It was closed for some months due to:
1) Threat by Terrorism to blow-up the dam - Though I could enter it previously freely.. the pics would be uploaded sometime soon
2) The contract of taking care of the plant was given to some private guy and had expired. The new tenders were called for and there was some hungama taking place for that.

Anyways, Coming back to why my weekend was screwed.... I was forced to stay at my sisters.. and i wud have gladly done so if it was not for her inlaws. I am a person who prefers freedom and in their house, it is like getting bogged down by everything... I bought the HP7 and reading that was a problem for them, having breakfast/lunch/dinner is a problem, waking up on time is a problem, taking bath is a problem.. i dunno why or how the fcuk did all the above daily stuff cause problems for them... I stayed there one night (Friday) and the next night (Saturday), I stayed at Madhu's place... No dinner anywhere on Saturday :(

Sunday was the Puja... went there as late as possible - by 11ish, had lunch and left immediately to Bangalore.. My mood was so screwed up that I ripped the 140 kms in almost 120 mins.. (actually, earlier than that.. but chose to take a deviation thru Bengaluru University and was delayed due to some construction happening there). Overtook 3 Volvo Buses, got drenched in the rain, got splashed by a puddle of water while overtaking a few vehicles together... But it was quite a good ride back home (though as unsafe as it might be).

Secularism -- Majority and Minority

This post is not dedicated to anyone and is just a forwarded email which has been copied and pasted over here... and i am forced to assume that this is the truth! I had posted earlier on the same topic and here i go again! Talking abt majority and minority as a part of the comments in my previous post, i was forced to put this in points below: 1. Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular,VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular? 2. Why Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir? 3. When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran, Why Hindus cannot teach Gita in our schools? 4. When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed? 5. If Muslims & C...

The Truth - "Kannada Barutha"??? Kannada barbeku!

"Kannada Barutha??", ah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is "kannada barutha?" here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India , the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore/bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing MTR's, classy eat out's replacing "Vidyarthi Bhavans" and flashy pub's replacing all our "Mahalakshmi wine shops". "Change is inevitable" from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to INFOSYS, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of "LALBAGH...", "rave idli and coffee.." at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh o...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love, on the other hand, is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows - one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real, it gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warned by his/her presence, even when is away. Long distances do not separate you. You want him/her near, but near or far, you know he/she is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him/her." Love says, "Be patient, Don't Panic. He/she is yours. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation...
