I was suggested this link by a friend of mine. I am an introvert myself and the link just proved it!
I have visited a psychiatrist for my problems without realising that it is quite normal being an introvert! Thanks Prashant for helping me out to realise who I am! :)
Being an introvert is not bad.. On the contrary, many of our celebrities like Thomas Alva Edison, Albert Einstein, Jane Goodall, Harry Potter (though fictional), Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Mark Twain etc are all introverts.. And as Prashant told me earlier, when you are having thoughts, if you pen them down, it would be productive!
I love to be alone, don't venture too much with a crowd and even when I am with a crowd, I have my own feelings and inner thoughts which will keep me occupied and aloof of what the crowd is discussing.. and many a time, when the crowd is having fun, I have missed out and when I am having fun, the crowd has missed out! :)
I don''t make friends easily and the people whom I consider as friends would be truly my friends.. and I would treasure them next only to my life, no matter even if they have caused me tremendous psychological pain.
I don't speak much and would be a good listener.. but if anyone asks me to speak and I have the mind to speak, I would not stop.. no matter if the topic is going to cause hurt to the other person.
If I go outdoors with a group, then it is mandatory that I go outdoors again with myself..I need a break from the group.. and it might be immediate or it might be late, but I would definitely go out!
The usual assumptions that people make about me are:
No matter who I am, I care a damn for the world and I am happy being wid myself.. That's my best quality ! :o)

Cheers to Sukumar for having re-discovered himself. Yet, lets not label ourself as "Introvert" or "Extrovert". We all know that Sukumar has been caught being an extrovert at times.
Introverts generally are "mental" kind of people. There is a constant chatter with the self which goes on up there and its not about other people.(stuff like gossip or people problems). It could be anything from Origin of the Universe to critical views on current affairs/sports to self mentoring on matters which matter.
What introverts would love mostly would be to find some like minded people to share these thoughts. The discussions and talks that introverts would love to have cannot be done usually with a group. It can mostly be done one-on-one. Introverts thrive and are comfortable with one-on-one conversations. You can identify a true introvert when a certain person talks to you in great depth when you're not in a crowd.
But having said that you cannot still label any person as an Introvert and Extrovert as the same person could have phases where one of both these orientations could manifest.
Sukumar, I would love to see "Empathy" in your list of true things about yourself. Being an introvert does not mean that you could go stomping on others feelings while trying to defend your right to be alone (not accusing you here!! ). Spare a thought for the people who like to be around you and talk to you even when you are not in a mood to.
:))
@ Sari... Well, I have mentioned that too... I love interacting with people to get to know the various facets or people, but I would stay aloof of the crowd and would wish to think of all these thoughts sometime later when I am spending my time with myself @ the same place!
