Weekend..... Some thoughts

My weekend begins in a different way and ends in a completely different manner than the way it begins. This is happening from the past quite a few weeks!

Saturday saw me rushing here and there and I was busier than a normal working day. I went to a cousin's house, picked him up and then, went to Cauvery theater to book tickets for Taare Zameen Par's Matinee show. Then, dropping him @ the theater, I rushed to Kanakapura Road which is almost the other end of Bangalore and completed my tasks there. After that, I returned to another cousin's house, and together we managed to reach the theater by 1415 and entered the theater by 1425.. 3 mins b4 the movie started!!!

From the movie, for the first time in 6 years of staying in Bangalore, I went for a Saturday evening visit to Brigade Road. Went around searching for one cap and walked almost for three kilometres around Brigade Road, MG Road, Residency Road and Commissariat Road, just to end up without the hat and with a lot of leg ache!

Returned home by 2145 and CRASHED on the bed, to have another session of 11 hour sleep.. woke up only by 0845 today, which is VERY LATE by my standards.

So, Saturday was very busy.. But Sunday was the exact opposite.. I have been trying hard to laze around in the hot sun but am not been able to. I could not pass time this Sunday for unknown reasons. I did not feel like sitting quietly or roaming here and there.. All that I did was be a couch potato with two packets of Kurkure and surf the channels for 4 continuous hours. I did not call any of the cousins who had joined me for TZP, nor did I inform my relatives about the movie.. All that I said about the movie to my mom and sis who called me was not to miss this movie.

By evening, I finally got out of the house, went for a long walk and had quite some peace by strolling around the roads of Basaveshwaranagar. Then, had dinner and CRASHED quite early!

So, that which began as quite a hectic weekend ended as a lazy one!

I plan to have one completely lazy weekend sometime soon.. Dunno what is going to happen and when this would happen!

Secularism -- Majority and Minority

This post is not dedicated to anyone and is just a forwarded email which has been copied and pasted over here... and i am forced to assume that this is the truth! I had posted earlier on the same topic and here i go again! Talking abt majority and minority as a part of the comments in my previous post, i was forced to put this in points below: 1. Do you consider that - Sanskrit is communal and Urdu is secular, Mandir is Communal and Masjid is Secular, Sadhu is Communal and Imam is secular,VandeMatharam is communal and Allah-O-Akbar is secular, Shriman is communal and Mian is secular, Hinduism is Communal and Islam is Secular? 2. Why Godhra is blown out of proportion, when no-one talks of the ethnic cleansing of 4 lakh Hindus from Kashmir? 3. When Christian and Muslim schools can teach Bible and Quran, Why Hindus cannot teach Gita in our schools? 4. When Haj pilgrims are given subsidy, why Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath, Sabarimalai & Kailash Mansarovar are taxed? 5. If Muslims & C...

The Truth - "Kannada Barutha"??? Kannada barbeku!

"Kannada Barutha??", ah! I am sure most of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is "kannada barutha?" here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India , the silicon city and now a Metro city opened its gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore/bengaluru. The life style of the city has seen a gradual change with Pizza Corners replacing MTR's, classy eat out's replacing "Vidyarthi Bhavans" and flashy pub's replacing all our "Mahalakshmi wine shops". "Change is inevitable" from the days of BEML, HAL and BHEL to INFOSYS, WIPRO; Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical Sunday for any bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of "LALBAGH...", "rave idli and coffee.." at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra film either at Santosh o...

Love or Infatuation

Infatuation is instant desire. It is one set of glands calling to another. Love, on the other hand, is friendship that has caught fire. It takes root and grows - one day at a time. Infatuation is marked by a feeling of insecurity, you are excited and eager, but not genuinely happy. There are nagging doubts, unanswered questions, little bits and pieces about your beloved that you would just as soon not examine too closely. It might spoil the dream. Love is the quiet understanding and mature acceptance of imperfection. It is real, it gives you strength and grows beyond you - to bolster your beloved. You are warned by his/her presence, even when is away. Long distances do not separate you. You want him/her near, but near or far, you know he/she is yours and you can wait. Infatuation says, "We must get married right away. I can't risk losing him/her." Love says, "Be patient, Don't Panic. He/she is yours. Plan your future with confidence." Infatuation...
